Where did the concept
for the Room of Doom come from?
After years of
speculation and hearing numerous stories in trade
magazines about mass merchandisers taking over
small towns throughout the Midwest, that news
became reality in Mankato last year. For Rockin
Ronny's to keep their edge on the market we
started here, we needed something big, something
nobody else had heard of.... So we decided to
build the biggest, baddest sound room known to
man! While other shops around the country were
building SPL vehicles that only a few people can
see at certain shows, we decided to build an SPL
room that everyone can see and enjoy everyday
they come into our store. I believe it’s a
first of its kind.
How loud exactly is
the Room of Doom?
Loud enough where admission tickets that are a
dollar coupon towards a Future
purchase is required to enter the room. A
disclaimer is posted on the back of the ticket so
we don't have to worry about any future legal
problems if someone goes deaf later in life from
going in there. Final tuning has yet to be
completed, but projections are in the mid 160's
hopefully.
